07/16/2007: "Olive Garden - Las Vegas, NV"
Sorry for the lack of updates! It has been incredibly hectic lately, but I will try to keep the posts coming! This blog might just get an explosion of posts this week, but who knows right? So indulge me for a moment, so that this "Hawaiian" may talk about her first Olive Garden. Yes I know, for all you mainlanders, this is nothing special, but I loved it! I really do wish we had one here.

Here is the Sampler Italiano. We tried the calamari and the stuffed mushrooms...yum yum.
The soup that came with our meal, it's called Zuppa Tuscano. Delicious.
Unfortunately, I think my friend and I both had seasonal dishes because I can't find them on the menu. My dish was a steak and portabello mushroom pasta. It was delicious! The steak was tender and the seasonings were just right.
My friend had this great lobster pasta dish. It looked and tasted great. Olive Garden

Hi Noreen! I do believe that the sauce I had with the pasta was cream based, so you were probably right on the money about them adding the mushrooms and steak (which were probably cooked together) onto the pasta right before service. =)

Do you know how they keep the portabello from turning the sauce into a greyish-brown color? Do they just add the mushrooms to the pasta as they are plating it instead of cooking it in the sauce?
