07/30/2007: "Oyster Bar - Las Vegas, NV"

A few more posts from my trip to go. I think this is the last specific post, the rest are just random pictures I took. Aren't trips lovely? It's mainly sightseeing and eating, isn't it? Well I have no problem with both. Here is the Oyster Bar, we were looking for a place to eat after checking out The Blue Man Group. We happened upon this bar and we both LOVE oysters, so we gave it a try.

Maybe I need help for this water pictures addiction...

Aww shucks...get it?? Okay, here is the full post...

Oyster shots ($4 USD) anyone? My friend had the bloody mary (bloody tomato and vodka) while I tried the Louisiana (tobasco, lemon and pepper vodka). I thought mine was disgusting, mainly because I hate alcohol...so I went just for the gold.

Another shot of my shot. The alcohol was incredibly strong and there was a thick layer of black pepper in the bottom of the glass.

Look at that bread basket! It was awesome looking. I didn't care much for the actual contents, but who wants to fill up on this when oysters are afoot!

Tiger Prawn Saute ($14 USD). This is a great appetizer that is sauteed with parsely, basil, thyme, olive oil, garlic and white wine. The yellow little pouch is the lemon! It's good that they let you have the option of lemon juice or not...

Another shot of the great shrimp. I spent too much time on detail, it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the seasonings were fabulous.

A shot of the oyster bar!

Fried Malpeque Oysters ($18 USD). They are lightly buttered, flash fried and served with lemon aioli.

Okay, we didn't really want our oysters this way. I guess we wanted to give it a try, and it was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, the oysters themselves were great, but we much rather have them raw than cooked in this fashion.

Finally, what we were looking for! Fresh oysters....I think we went for the Blue Point Oysters ($10 USD).

A closer shot of the oysters. Honestly, by this time...we were sick and tired of oysters! I didn't think that was possible, but I really wished that we had just ordered our oysters this style from the start. Very good...great quality.
