08/15/2007: "Sushi Land"

Could you ever go wrong with a restaurant called Sushi Land? I think not. I have read pieces on this restaurant and was impressed by the rave reviews. Great prices for big fresh pieces of fish? That's definitely something I would go for. So how did it go?

Picture of their sign. Their parking lot is a bit small considering it shares a lot with other shops...and it's not the easiest to back out of...so I advise back parking.

Full post and review...

Interior shot.

Another interior shot. The restaurant included us and another family. It was never extremely busy but they had steady service.

Here is their Special Spicy Ahi Roll ($3.50 USD). Sorry for the blurry picture! It was basically an ahi roll with Sriracha chili sauce and salad mix. Not recommended.

Here is their gyoza ($3.25), pretty reasonable price. Very delicious.

I wanted to try some of their great nigiri. I ordered the Hamachi ($4.50 USD) and Salmon ($3.65 USD). Doesn't that look great? The pieces of fish are indeed huge, fresh and delicious.

Connie tried the Ahi ($3.65 USD) and Salmon ($3.65). This picture makes them look somewhat plastic huh?

Well, it was delicious! smile

This is the Shrimp Tempura Udon ($8.30 USD). Oohh, enoki mushrooms. Noodles, you can never go wrong.

Here is the shrimp tempura that comes on the side with the udon! This picture is not deceiving, the shrimp tempura were HUGE. And, it was not all just breading, the shrimp was quite big itself. Delicious. I liked that they serve it outside of the udon, that way it won't get soggy too quick.

The ahi salad and salmon salad are both very good there. They serve the fish on leafy greens, a litte fish eggs (can't remember if it was tobiko or masago)and some other garnishes. They bring two bottles of dressing to the table - a spicy one and a miso-based one. I really enjoyed the miso dressing. For a salad it is very filling.
