**COMMENTING**
Hi guys, I've have been having a big issue with spammers on this site so I have to add the static phrase element to all comments. With the commenting system on this system, you may need to click on the "Post Comment" button, rather than pressing enter on the keyboard. I hope this doesn't hinder the comments, I appreciate them all! Thank you!

10/27/2007: "CDSE Open House"

Our office had our official grand opening the other week, and the staff came out in full force. Our office is known for serving pretty good food for events...and we definitely upheld that reputation for this! It was by far the nicest spread we ever had...so take a look!

Welcome indeed.

Carved watermelon, crisp and refresing!

Kamaboko Dip.

Kimchee Dip. Pretty good dip! But if you ask for my opinion, it's not red enough (I like to burn my mouth big grin).

Beautiful display of crackers for the various dips.

Spicy edamame.

Salmon Mousse, so elegant and delicious!

No Hawaii party is complete without a sushi platter, right?

Mixed Rice.

Linda just threw things and made this wonderful rice! Is there a Japanese term for this type of dish?

Spinach and Ham and Cheese Rolls.

Close-up of the Spinach Rolls. I love these things, dangerously delicious. If you ever decide to make this yourself, make sure you always use mayonnaise and sour cream. I know some recipes call for cream cheese instead of mayonnaise, and well...I don't think it tastes as good (I've tried it).

Rustic Mediterranean Wraps, I will post the recipe later!

Garlic Chicken (sorry, not Mitsu-ken!).

Rolls for the Mini Kalua Pig Sandwiches.

Yum...freshly prepared Kalua Pig.

Dessert spread.

Rest of the desserts.

View of the buffet tables.

Close-up of the Coffee "Bean" Jello.

Close-up of the Lilikoi Chiffon Squares. If you recall, I have a Lilikoi Chiffon Squares Recipe entry in this journal, and this looks nothing like the first two times I made it! However, I have a feeling I made it right this time. Why? The chiffon actually exists! But to be perfectly honest, I like having a big layer of jello rather than chiffon. I'm pretty sure I know what I did right this time, I actually cooked through the third layer of the squares. I saw a distinct change in color as I heated it through. So next time, I will not do that!
