**COMMENTING**
Hi guys, I've have been having a big issue with spammers on this site so I have to add the static phrase element to all comments. With the commenting system on this system, you may need to click on the "Post Comment" button, rather than pressing enter on the keyboard. I hope this doesn't hinder the comments, I appreciate them all! Thank you!

10/29/2007: "Kimchee Fried Rice"

One of my all time favorite foods is kimchee fried rice. The best place to get it in Hawaii is definitely from Sapporo Ramen (aka Taiyo Ramen) at the Ala Moana Plaza. But if I may say so myself, I also make a pretty mean kimchee fried rice. Extremely easy to make...but the kimchee you use is key! I only use the kimchee from Palama Supermarket, you can't beat it! I don't have an exact recipe to type out here, but I do have pictures of what I do put in...you can throw in whatever amount you want!

Kimchee, Spam, Onions and lots of Green Onions!

Close-up of the spam and onions. I think I used about half a can of spam and a medium onion.

Green Onions. A lot of cooking shows say that the stalks provide more flavor than the tips, I beg to differ. I think both offers great flavors for cooking.

Close-up of the kimchee, look at how red that is! That's the only way to go...

Saute the onions and spam in a bit of butter. I used way too much in this shot, I would usually just throw in a tablespoon or so.

Add in the kimchee...

Simmering and bubbling away...

Sorry for the blurry shot, but here is the mixture with rice added. I used brown rice for this particular recipe and it was great! You couldn't even tell it was brown rice. But that's also because when I cook brown rice, I practically double the water to have softer grains. Delicious!
