11/11/2007: "Ruth's Chris Steak House"
Ruth's Chris Steak House is a restaurant I've wanted to try for quite a few years. I've heard nothing but great things about this restaurant, and decided to try it during the summer. Actually, I was so impressed by the restaurant that I tried it twice in the summer! The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the service and quality of food makes all the costs totally worth it. So here's my extended post based on two visits. Enjoy!

Ruth's Chris Menu.
Various types of steaks and a nice explanation of how to order your steak. I've always gotten medium rare, but now I understand why I do. Haha...
Fresh and hot bread, it's great!
Table settings and Kristian taking notes on the restaurant, makes us look like food critics huh?
Fresh creamery butter (5 points to the person who knows where this line comes from!)
Yum, buttered bread...
Garlic Mashed Potatoes ($7.95 USD), you can't go wrong.
Fresh Broccoli Au Gratin ($8.95 USD), the broccoli is definitely fresh. You can always taste the difference between fresh and frozen. Not only was this incredibly fresh, I could taste the quality in it!
Close-up shot of the broccoli.
Rib Eye ($37.95 USD).
Two Petit Filet with Shrimp ($42.95 USD). Kristian loved this dish. He gets his meats well done but he says this filet was very tender, flavorful and juicy. The shrimp was a bit spicy, looks to be cajun seasoning.
Here's a shot of my rib eye, sliced up. I couldn't finish it and took the rest home! I have to admit, it was good but there was a slight gamey taste to it. It didn't work too well with my stomach.
Next visit! Here are the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms ($12.50 USD).
Looks a bit like stove top right? Hahaha, not to sound crude...
Look at all those flakes of crab, real crab.
Absolutely heavenly.
Creamed Spinach ($8.95 USD)
Had to give this side dish a try! Everyone else had this on their table. It was good, but not great. I wouldn't order it again.
Mixed Trio ($38.95 USD).
Close-up of the duck.
The lamb, the best I have EVER tasted. It looks and tastes great. I've had a fix on lamb lately, but I would love to try Hoku's lamb one day!
New York Strip Steak ($38.95 USD)
Close-up of the New York Strip, very good. I definitely enjoyed this much more than the rib eye. We had quite a bit of appetizers so I definitely did not finish this. But that's okay, plenty of leftovers for the next day!
Ruth's Chris also offers different sauces for your steak. You can get your typical A-1, ketchup, etc. I went for the bernaise sauce, so here it is!
Molten Cake ($8.50 USD), not on the menu but was mentioned both times as specials. I hope it's here to stay!
Words cannot describe...
A nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top...
It's a vanilla and caramel waterfall!
By far, the best dessert I have ever had! I love molten cake, and it's hard to find a good quality chocolate dessert. I admit, I am quite a picky eater...and many chocolate desserts I've had before disappointed me. The chocolate they used is very good, highly recommended!Ruth's Chris Steak House
