12/05/2007: "The Cheesecake Factory"
The Cheesecake Factory first opened their doors a few years ago and well, I have yet to see the day where there is no line waiting to get in. Sure, there was this one time I got in with no problem...but it was about 3:30 in the afternoon. Is it worth the wait? Many believe it is, and I am usually inclined to agree. For this particular post, I did not have to wait too long for a table...but definitely was made to wait during our meal. In fact, our whole dining experience exceeded two and a half hours (their validation didn't cover the visit!)...but this does not speak for the usual service. Our waiter was extremely nice and apologetic about the wait and our desserts were comped (that's what caused the wait!). Let us start the post...

Beautiful view of the patio seating, it's too bad the seating faces the street and not the ocean.

Fresh hot bread, I know the white bread is sourdough. I think the brown bread is just whole wheat? I'm not sure and would love to know! Anyhow, I love the wheat bread...delicious!
Fried Calamari ($9.95 USD). It is usually served with cocktail sauce and a garlic dip. I only like the garlic dip so I requested that both be garlic. I expected them to make a mistake and bring me one of each...which they did but quickly rectified. Not that I'm pessimistic or anything, but I have ordered from them before and they made the same mistake in the past.
Doesn't that look great?
Chicken Pot Stickers ($8.95 USD)
Well...it looks good...
But it certainly did not taste good. As I've mentioned before, I enjoy dumplings of all kinds which is why I couldn't resist ordering this. This was not authentic at all and tasted bland and of vinegar. I also found a slice of pickle in this dish...I'm not quite sure why.
Steak Diane and Herb Crusted Salmon ($20.95 USD)
Close-up of Diane's Steak...
The steak is very good!
The salmon and asparagus. I loved the asparagus, score for Kristian not liking vegetables again!
Artsy failed
Caesar Salad with Chicken ($9.95 USD)
Yes, it's a chopstick shot with salad! That $9.95 price, I think it is for a full size salad. I was advised by the waiter to order the half size which is what I have pictured here. He said the full size could feed four people! I must say, the half size was more than enough. It was quite good, I enjoyed it!
Godiva Chocolate Brownie Sundae
Sorry! I forgot the prices for both desserts, this is actually where we grew quite upset and impatient. I couldn't believe how long a dessert took to make! Looks good doesn't it?
Well the title of the dessert lured me in, but with the first taste, I knew I wouldn't order it again. It tasted like a very rich chocolate cheesecake, not a brownie at all! I gave it to Kristian.
Hot Fudge Sundae
Presentation is always great here...
