06/05/2008: "Two Ladies Kitchen - Hilo, Hawaii"

On our last day in Hilo, Two Ladies Kitchen was our very last visit. I heard nothing but great things about this little shop so I called in a day earlier to place an order for two dozen strawberry mochi. Not all for myself of course! I brought it back to share with friends, family and coworkers. Let's take a look at this little kitchen...

I love their sign.

Lucky for us, they had strawberry mochi in stock! A nice and welcoming sign...

Sorry about the screen door! Here is the front counter from a distance...smile

Again another screen, but just wanted to show you their storage room with all the boxes ready for mochi!

Two Ladies also sells these variety pack of mochi for customers, I picked up two. What a great variety! My favorite was the pink sakura shaped one...they also sell these at KTA (local supermarket chain)! Aren't big islanders lucky?

Close-up of the blue mochi, couldn't help but drool over their beautiful creations!

A strawberry mochi dissected and safely landed in Oahu.

Everyone who ate this loved it! I liked it as well, but wasn't as big a fan as everyone else. Then again, I'm not much of a sweets person. These strawberry mochi are good but not cheap...definitely worth a try though!

Agreed! I love red bean paste that has like no "shells" attached, it needs to be smooth for me. Smoothation sounds pretty cool actually... hehe

Hi Kat! Yes the price of the mochi definitely does depend on the strawberries... shocked
