08/03/2008: "King's Fish House - Tempe, Arizona"

In the flurry of our shopping after the conference (during our own time of course), we decided to have dinner at King's Fish House. And they definitely knew what they were doing! Arizona was quite hot that day but they have these misting showers for the outdoor patrons, it's too bad I couldn't try it! Anyhow, I got a few pics of what my companions ate...and of course my dish! Here goes!

The misting showers!

Restaurant interiors...

Oyster shooters ($6.95 USD), delicious!

Baja Oyster Shooter, my favorite!

Traditional Oyster Shooter

Miyagi Style Oyster Shooter

Small Caesar Salad ($4.95 USD)

King's Spicy Seafood Chowder Bowl ($5.95 USD)

Jambalaya Pasta ($13.95 USD)

Fried Coconut Shrimp ($9.95 USD)

Small Sushi Platter ($19.50 USD)

Unagi

Shrimp

Ahi

Salmon

California Roll

Hamachi? I couldn't quite figure this one out, but it was delicious!

Hamachi as well? Haha I don't know my fish too well, but this was heavenly.

The sushi itself was pretty disappointing. The ingredients didn't taste as good and fresh as they should have. The rice also ruined it! The rice was incredibly mushy so I can't say that I enjoyed my dinner at all. sad I guess this tells me that I should only order sushi from maybe Japanese establishments.

These pictures bring back some great memories! The seafood chowder was just ok; nothing memorable. Oyster shooters were a real treat! Never had anything other than the traditional type before, so I really enjoyed the sweetness & spiciness of the other versions. I would definitely recommend the shooters.
