05/12/2009: "Jimbo Restaurant"
A noodle lover like myself must do a post on Jimbo's! I've heard and read nothing but great things about Jimbo Restaurant so I decided to give it a try! I'm not quite sure I can agree with those reviews right now...but I think it's definitely worth another visit to change my opinions! Maybe it was an off day? Well let's see what I had!
Jimbo's familiar sign as you drive down King Street... Click here for more pictures and the full review...

A few interior shots. I love the ceiling!
Here is the Kake (plain) Udon ($7.10 USD) and a Mini Udon ($4.60 USD)
Up-close shot of the noodles, isn't that pretty?
The broth looks so clean and wonderful. What was my complaint? I have never tasted a broth like this before, it had a very strong smoky flavor. Unfortunately, the three of us did not enjoy the broth as much as we would have liked. Again, I would like to try Jimbo's one more time to see if it was just that one visit...
Noodle shot!
Spicy Yaki Udon with Shrimp and Vegetables ($11.40 USD)

Noodle shot! Well, I can't say this dish was too memorable. It tasted just fine, maybe a bit bland but I like very spicy food so that could be why... All in all, I thought the experience was just fine. Hopefully I can get another taste of the food and give a better review later on. This restaurant shares a very small parking lot with Gulick Deli, Kochi Restaurant (dinner only) and a flower shop. I think they have a lot elsewhere...but I generally try to find spots in the main lot. If you go early, you'll be able to find a spot! If not, there is a lot of street parking as well.

Yup, pix of my GD from at least two years ago. Nowadays she gets her "own" meal.

Hey Nate! Thanks for letting me know what's good! I'll definitely keep these in mind for my next visit!
And that cute picture of your grand daughter is from Jimbo's right?

When my family goes there, I usually have the oyaku donburi, my daugther has the nabeyaki udon and my SIL gets the curry. Plus a side of tempura. Great place!
