Just a short post on some of the foods consumed in San Francisco. I must say, I thought we ate more than what I posted!

A few more posts from my trip to go. I think this is the last specific post, the rest are just random pictures I took. Aren't trips lovely? It's mainly sightseeing and eating, isn't it? Well I have no problem with both. Here is the Oyster Bar, we were looking for a place to eat after checking out The Blue Man Group. We happened upon this bar and we both LOVE oysters, so we gave it a try.

I used to work in downtown, maybe about 4 years ago? My god! How time has passed! Actually, I last worked in downtown 4 years ago...I started there about 7 years ago. That's insanity, but I must say, the times I spent working in downtown account for some of the happiest times of my life. I don't know why, but I just loved everything about downtown. That is also why I am old enough to remember the short stint Tanioka's had at Pioneer Plaza many many years ago. But it is through Tanioka's that my first taste and eventual obsession with Spicy Tuna started. I was very sad when they closed down but made a faithful trip down to the virgin territory of Waipahu.

Can you believe that I have never tried a teppanyaki until a few months ago? I guess I have never been tempted to because I'm not a huge fan of sitting in front of a chef while he cooks my food and (possibly?) watching me eat? Anyhow, my friend did have a coupon for this particular meal...so I was all in for that! =) To my surprise, the chef was pretty entertaining and no, did not watch us eat. So yay on both counts. Now, how did the food compare to the entertainment?

Some more pictures from my trip! This was a little Japanese restaurant we checked out while in Japantown. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name! I tried looking in my receipts and everything...
But it might work out for the best, because the food wasn't that awesome. Let me show you why!

You know what summer is perfect for? Clean, crisp and refreshing desserts! So when summer came around, I knew just what I wanted to make…mango bars! Unfortunately, it was too early in the summer and mangoes were not yet available. So, I found a recipe for Lilikoi Chiffon Squares. I had never tried them before, or even knew of their existence. Well, I gave it a try and my office loved it! Now, I am here to share with you the recipe!

So my friend and I were circling around for a place to eat one night and decided to make a stop in Kaimuki. After a quick glance at what there was, we were at a lost of what to eat (which is quite impossible in Kaimuki - they have every cuisine you could imagine!)...but finally decided on a restaurant called Bozu. It is a nice little Japanese restaurant...but I must say...the decor and the bathroom (ESPECIALLY the bathroom) left much to be desired. So how was the food?

In an earlier post, I mentioned that I went to China in 2005. This trip included a sad one day trip to Hong Kong. That one day awakened my love that for that little country. All the shops, the malls, the restaurants, far exceeded anything I have ever had in my life. Why don't I just show you the pictures to show my love?

Sorry for the lack of updates! It has been incredibly hectic lately, but I will try to keep the posts coming! This blog might just get an explosion of posts this week, but who knows right? So indulge me for a moment, so that this "Hawaiian" may talk about her first Olive Garden. Yes I know, for all you mainlanders, this is nothing special, but I loved it! I really do wish we had one here.

I got to visit China for the first time as an adult in the summer of 2005. I can't say that I loved it, but I have to say it was better than expected. The weather was horrible though, seriously over 100 degrees everyday with no trade winds! But with a trip to China, expect to have some journeys with food as well.
